If you are in the market for a new laptop then how about considering a netbook? The top 10 netbooks now being sold offer a performance that is one a par with their larger cousins. Though we may have different demands and expectations when it comes to choosing a computer, there is a general consensus as to what are the best processors, graphics chips, and display resolutions. Though the price of netbooks has dropped considerably since they were first introduced, it is still essential to do some amount of research before you spend your money.
To being with let’s discuss the size of the screen and the resolution. Netbooks are smaller than laptops, their screens range in size from a small seven inches up to a reasonable twelve inches. What size would be best for you will depend primarily on what tasks you would be using the netbook for the most. Would it be surfing online, word processing or just general computing? The larger the screen the better the overall resolution is going to be.
The ergonomics of the keyboard is also an important factor. Most would feature keyboards that are around ninety per cent of the size found on a normal PC. The actual layout of keys will vary depending on the model and manufacturer. The touchpad is another important design aspect. How easy is it to use the touchpad? There has been a lot of advancements in the design of touch pads over the last couple of years.
For what good is a netbook when its battery is crap? Forgive me for using that word but that is just the way it is.
Most laptops nowadays have lithium-ion batteries and they allow for 500 cycles, more or less, depending on the capacity of the battery. One cycle consists of a charge/recharge and a discharge.
