Asus Eee PC 1005HAB Netbook Review

Speaking of RAM, one little of caution: Amazon will “suggest” an ASUS/RAM combo, if it is the corsair do not purchase the RAM as a result of it is not compatible with the netbook. I purchased them every along assuming that it’d all work but it’ll not and had to order a singular module Crucial CT25664BC1067 2GB 204-PIN PC3-8500 SODIMM DDR3 Memory Module and may need to be compelled to come back the corsair.
I opted for the ASUS over totally different brands as a results of it fully was o.k. received by prime reviewers and since of the battery life. when 3 days of great use, it’s lived up to its name. the first day I had it I charged the battery to 100 percent and disconnected the power cable. I place it through it’s paces by downloading several software titles like workplace 2010 skilled, Norton, itunes, VLC, google chrome, etc. i used to be fitting these whereas surfing infobahn and transferring files that the screen never had a chance to rest which i got a good 7+ hours out of the battery. I liked the little things that ASUS thought of like Velcro ties to the power cable and a the particular indisputable fact that the power cable “snaps” int the input (my huge laptop is cnstantly getting

This netbook to supplement the 17″ mobile workstation I even have at school. i prefer my “big” laptop heaps but it’s too huge too drag around and encompasses an influence module (which I even need to possess forever – the laptop is power HUNGRY and lasts relating to an hour and a half) that is the dimensions of a brick and weighs twice the most quantity. I needed one factor that was very little and can provide me basic functions like internet, email, and office.

The I/O are restricted, therefore no parallell or serial or something like that. three USB ports are smart. there’s alittle learning curve with the smaller screen size, however the gains on the software so much OUTWEIGH any inconvenience you may feel whereas obtaining the screen adjusted to your liking. i used to be considering upgrading my hardrive, however I see that it’s an inside issue with controller cable and not a straightforward screwdriver/plug in issue – therefore most likely not. i do not appear to wish any addtional RAM nonetheless therefore – for i am extremely set. typically I pay virtually that a lot of for the extended warranty that hardly works on those larger notebooks. I hope it lasts. And if it does not, well i will simply fork out another $249 on an analogous model to check. I’ll admit, it absolutely was a Best get on sale item. you’ll be able to pay alittle a lot of for a lot of ram, larger arduous drive or Windows seven if that is your issue.

Editor’s Note:
Can’t. They removed that feature for Win7 starter edition, assuming thats what you’ve got on your netbook. If your on XP it will be under properties when u right click. If ur on windows 7 starter they disable changing the background for some stupid reason. Something youve been able to do since windows 95 or before, really stupid on microsofts part. You Cant Change It applications/S…Scroll Down And Watch the movieMine had the “personalize” button on it but if it doesn’t then you can go to the Start Menu then click Getting Started. Then you go to Personalize Windows and you can change the background and other settings.Hope I helped!LaurenChanging the background is a feature they removed from the Starter version that comes on netbooks to help keep the expense down. You have to do their $79.99 “Anytime Upgrade” to Home Premium to get that, or else some people find software like Stardock’s MyColors lets them do it.Yeti is right, you cannot change the background using Windows 7 Starter, however if you choose to upgrade using the anytime upgrade you can personalize your background as well as other features: en-US/windo…Cheers,TaraWindows Outreach Team
